PSG Security Academy is the premier security guard training school in Tampa Bay. As a service-disabled Veteran owned and operated business, we have the experience and expertise to provide a comprehensive education to help you succeed in the security industry.

 Our founder was the Primary 'G' Instructor and back up 'D' Instructor for Tampa Bay's
#1 security training school, The S2 Safety and Intelligence Institute for over half a decade.Â
At PSG we teach lessons, disciplines and tactics proven in the Security Industry.Â
Our program meets or exceeds the standards set by the State of Florida and
the Department of Agriculture Division of Licensing and Consumer Services.

Instructor Kelly Flanagan is the founder and President of
PSG Security Academy. He has over 38 years of combined Military, Private Security & Law Enforcement experience to inlcude 28 years as a Firearms Instructor and he has been teaching the D and G Security courses for over a deacade.
Instructor Flanagan retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service as a Shift Sergeant with the USAF Security Police. His qualifications included: Patrolman, Firearms Instructor, Investigator and Armorer along with numerous other police duties and sections. He is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm/Southern Watch and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
He was awarded 17 Awards and Decorations to include
three Air Force Commendation Medals, Air Force Achievement Medal and various other Air Force awards.
In 2015, Kelly received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Criminal Justice with an Undergraduate Certificate in
Homeland Security from Saint Leo University.

​​Instructor Flanagan is a Lifetime Member of the NRA,
a member of the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA) and has been a Firearms Instructor since 1996. He is an NRA certified Law Enforcement & Security Handgun/Shotgun Instructor among 5 other instructor ratings.
Kelly first became a Florida licensed 'D' and 'G' Officer in 1997 when he was hired as the Supervisor for the entire Hillsborough County for a local security company. He is licensed by the State of Florida as a 'K' and 'DI' Instructor and has taught over 8,000 students in the last 9-years.

Investigator Flanagan is also a State of Florida certified
Private Investigator and the Sr. Investigator & CEO of
Peacekeeper Investigations and Consulting, LLC.
