Service Description

To become a Security Officer in Florida, you must take the 42-hour 'D' Security Officer course. To carry a firearm as a Security Officer, you must also take the 28-hour 'G' Course. The 'G' course is also required for Private Investigators, Private Investigations Interns and Security Managers who want to carry a firearm while performing their duties. PSG is the only school in Tampa Bay that offers a discount when you take both classes. If you sign up for this option, you will attend the 'D' class Mon-Thurs one week, then the 'G' Class the next week from Mon-Weds. You can take them in either order, but you can not turn in the G application until you turn in the D application as the G is a Companion license to the D. All classroom sessions are conducted at our Zephyrhills location and start at 0730 and end at 1800. The Range portion of the G class is held on Wednesdays at the Wyoming Antelope Club in Pinellas Park and showtime is at 0745. You must have a duty quality high-capacity (12+ round or more) semi-automatic pistol. 9mm is suggested but .40 S&W or .45ACP can be used if you have 3-4 12rd magazines and a duty holster.
